A Trip To Bluestone Wales - My Five Day Experience

I was invited on a five day complimentary stay at Bluestone in Pembrokeshire, Wales. I had heard of Bluestone before however had never experienced it for myself and really didn't know what to expect so I have compiled a blog to tell you all about it!

Before I even arrived at Bluestone I was called twice by a member of their team about one month out, and then again about two weeks out, to ask if I had any questions or whether I needed anything ahead of my trip. I have never had this sort of customer service from any other stays that I have been on, so already, before I had even headed to Wales I had a great impression of Bluestone!

Check in day arrived and I was super excited, I arrived just after my check in time of 3pm and it only took me a few minutes to get checked in and on my way to my lodge. They gave me a map, showed me in detail where my lodge was, and then gave me my passes and key card for the week. I took the short drive down to the lodge, unpacked and took the car back to the car park for the week. Luckily the car park was not far away, and in fact the walk back to the lodge was gorgeous!

I was put in a lodge in a gorgeous cul-de-sac with only three other lodges. When I got inside I noticed it was an 'upside-down' lodge. The bedrooms were downstairs and the kitchen/dining area/lounge was upstairs! The bedrooms were very well sized, there was one master bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite that had a bath with a shower over it, and the other bedroom was two twin single beds, however had only a shower in a wet room form.

Upstairs was a really beautiful open space with the kitchen, dining area and lounge all open planned. There was two double doors that opened which was gorgeous to have open daily with a nice breeze coming in! The kitchen was really well equipped. It had a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, kettle and it had all cutlery, crockery and pans etc. They gave me a starter pack with a tea towel, two dishwasher tablets, washing liquid, hand soap in the bathrooms, a sponge for washing up and some more bin bags which was really useful. There was also a toilet roll already in the two toilets. Do make sure that you bring extra toilet rolls and washing stuff etc with you - however there is a great shop on site!

The lodge that I was in was very near to 'the village' which is where all the shops and restaurants were, including a brilliant children's play area! I only ate at one of the restaurants which was the Farmhouse Grill and the whole experience was lovely. The service was fantastic and I was asked if I wanted a drink straight away. I opted for one of their Country Garden drinks from the cocktail menu, which tasted very similar to a mojito! It was delicious. I was extremely pleased to see that they were using paper straws not plastic ones, and in fact the eco-friendliness spread across the whole of Bluestone. The menu was extensive and I decided to go for a Halloumi Salad and I was not disappointed! My food arrived quickly and it was delicious! I would absolutely recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting!

One of the amazing things about Bluestone is that you get free access to the Blue Lagoon! Blue Lagoon is a little water park with an indoor beach, water slides and a gorgeous outdoor lazy rapid. Its great for children with a little children's area, and there are tons of seaside themed deck chairs available if you fancy a sit down! There is even an inflatable obstacle to play on that is available on certain days, which is really fun! If you fancy a bite to eat there is even a café upstairs!

Bluestone was an incredible stay, and one that is highly recommended! From start to finish I have no complaints at all! Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way at all times to help me!
